remembering 

my sweet baby girl (my only GIRL!) just three days old here with a dolly i knit her. valentina turns two at the end of this month and i'm so thankful we get to share a world full of boy things and now sprinkles of pink. 

i am taking a break from my hexagon quilt--- as i usually do with more laborious projects and start something new. so today i started on a doll head/torso for a few upcoming dolls i'm making with a friend.

Fabric update

some pretty cotton lawn fabric. I'm still nursing sick babies and now i've seem to come down with a bug. in the meantime i dream about fabric and all the wonderful things i can sew.

crafting mom

this picture pretty well sums up my life right now as a crafter and mama.  i wouldn't have it any other way. 

the hex quilt is slowly coming along and my sweet valentina is eager to wrap her dollies in it!  this is of course a doll quilt and i'm hoping it will be done in time for easter!

yarn update

i apologize for a lack of progress on my quilt today... i so badly wanted to share some sewing updates with you all!  but alas, my almost two-year-old has a terrible cold is nursing non-stop so i'm a very exhausted mama here. so i thought i would just share some of my yarn with you all! the first two are some of my handspun (by me) rainbow yarn and the last picture shows a yummy tropical merino handspun from etsy.

simple clothing and hexies all over

i missed yesterday's simple clothing project update, so here i am in all of goofy glory! taken with my iPhone so i apologize for the angle and the blinking! ha! it was quite warm out so i was inclined to put on a simple tee.

beyond my reflection on my post yesterday, i continued to sew up my hexies. i know this will take a while so.... hopefully this is worth it!
